    Dear Gurus

I switched 3 years back to NOD32 from KAV5 Personal -as the latter always deleted entire mailboxes in Eudora 5/6 whenever a virus laden email came in.

After I installed NOD32(on WinXP SP2) it was amazing
for me that NOD32 always caught just the single email with virus while it was spooling (maybe *.rcv files)
and removed it BEFORE it got into Eudora's In mailbox when Eudora's filters would act & move the mails, etc.

I always get these virused emails in Junk folder in Eudora.

As I haven't tried KAV recently I seek help/advice from KAV users here (who may also use Eudora) if they ever faced entire mailbox deletions in latest KAV6/KIS6 versions ? If this behavior in KAV has not improved
I plan to stick with NOD32.

By uncheck mail databases scanning in KAV6/KIS6 is it
still possible for KAV to delete just the faulty email(and its attachments) without deleting the entire mailbox ?

As I look to switch to either The Bat 3.99.1 /Thunderbird 2x from Eudora - do these email clients work well with KAV6/KIS6 - any tips/comments are deeply appreciated.
Which works best with KAV6/KIS6 ?

Thanks for your time, advice and kindness

Thunderbird has a setting that allows individual emails to be quarantined (or deleted i suppose) by antiviruses. So you may want to check that.

From my experience, KAV works fine with Thunderbird.

    @ WSFuser
Seems this individual email quarantine setting is a plus
    for Thunderbird vs The Bat!.

    @ Namor
The Bat! plugins - none of them seem to be for KAV6 ?
Does KAV6 have inbuilt settings/menus for The Bat! ?

    Thanks for your replies

KIS6 will delete any viruses it find in TheBat! emails. KIS6 also has antispam plugin for TheBat!. Yes, it will scan emails with no problems and very effective.

Never used Thunderbird, but Outlook stores Emails in highly compressed Outlook.pst files,
AnitVirus could cause damage trying to delete malware from there.

When AntiVir (configured to Quarantine, Repair or Delete) caught a WORM in an Outlook.pst,
it said [WARNING] "The file was ignored"
but since it had listed details of location, sender and subject, it was easy to locate and delete.
