    Good day WSF

Might anyone know if licensed SBIE 3.4.8 is compatible with Norton Internet Security 2011.
My SBIE & NIS 2010 are just the best of friends. :D

Which to avoid an Upgrade to NIS11 only to find out....that, SBIE 3.4.8 & NIS11 just don't play well together. :(

    Thanks so much

I don't use SBIE, but I don't really see much change in NIS2011 compared to NIS2010 from a functionality viewpoint (mostly GUI changes). So I wouldn't expect the SBIE-NIS 'friendship' to be disrupted. ;)

Thanks ever so much for your prompt reply.

    Super...great news. !!
How has NIS11 been for you. Any issue with Upgrade or Install ?
Have you experienced any NIS11 new release bugs.

Thank so much for your feedback...
So, between NIS10 and NIS11 just GUI stuff...
Supposed to have SONAR 3 and some other improvements under the hood.

    I like your signature ;-)

I used NIS 2011 beta for months and updated my three computers immediately to the release build. It has been really stable. I also used NIS 2010 and 2009 and this latest version is a good evolutionary update. I also run Prevx for enhanced detection and they get along without problems.

Regarding the install you can run it right on top of NIS 2010 - it will uninstall it automatically and reboot. If the system has no security software NIS 2011 doesn't even need the reboot. It will install in about two minutes. It's a good idea to run LiveUpdae immediately as there is a one-time big download for signatures.

Thanks so much for your interest... now that I know sandboxie is compatible ...guess, I'll do the Upgrade.
I've been following the Norton Forum and there have been a few glitches found / reproduced by Norton employees.
So, there may be some teething yet to come.
I ran PrevX for a few months along side NIS maybe two + years ago, a much earlier incarnation of the free version.
As it never even peeped...I lost interest. Since, you point to PrevX I must conclude you found it of value. I'll take another look ....
    Thanks again'
    Cheers'

Read about some of the changes in Norton 2011 here.

Have you upgraded Norton yet and have any problems occured?

I only used NIS2011 with Sandboxie (Edit: 3.46) for a few minutes but I witnessed some jerkiness when scrolling in Firefox.

    Thanks for your interest...
    I remain with NIS10 / SBIE 3.48
NIS11 users have posted a few glitches...as with all new releases. I usually delay Upgrade for 60 days give or take.
Your experience for a few minutes...is because you do not usually run NIS or do not usually run SBIE.
NIS10 & SBIE 3.48 & FF 3.6.10 are playing very well together. The comments of some NIS11 users may not fully support Symantec NIS11 hype. Time will tell.
Just today I read a post...Uninstall / Reinstall is the mother of all fixes. Norton Forum is advising Uninstall / Reinstall to posters with glitches.
Thanks again for your valued reply.

Sorry, I forgot to update thread...
NIS 11 & SBIE 3.50 & FF 3.6.12 are all playing together with nary a hitch. They're the best of friends.

I have since used different versions of Sandboxie with NIS2011 and have not seen this behaviour again. Especially, considering our system specs, it could have been unrelated.
