sbc connection manager not working

After installing my connection manager to sbcglobal does not work correctly. It does not show that the internet has connected, even though it is connected. The IP states that it can't ascertain any information from the computer to test the connections. The connection manager stays open stating that it is updating information but to no avail. Is this a by product of SpywareBlaster not letting it have any information. I do also have winpatrol installed on this computer and am trying to find out which one does not let sbc. or swbell have any information from this computer to complete the wizard connection.
