    Hello stk,

As a matter of interest, which version of TI 8 are you using?

I too had problems when booting into the Linux based rescue environment with my USB 6-in-1 flash card Reader connected. Up until TI 8 Build 903 I've needed to unplug this Reader when booting into rescue mode otherwise the system would invariably hang. However, Build 937 has cured the problem.

    Regards

    I loaded the latest.

I created the CD-R bootable and booted.

It went through the card reader devices like in the sysinfo.txt file I just posted with read error and assuming it is 1GB.

But what's worse is that it never makes it through the boot sequence. It stalls at:

md: md driver 0.90.0 Adaptec md 0.1.0, <etc>
    md: Autodetecting RAID arrays

I have no RAID arrays enabled (although the motherboard is capable it's not enabled in the BIOS). So it just sits there on the autodetecting phase.

Is there any way I can bypass this? (like a control character I can hit to abort it)

    Now what?

Whilst using the new Build 937 rescue CD, have you tried booting into the Linux kernal command line and adding the commands acpi=off noapic (make sure you spell it noapic not noacpi !!) after the word quiet? See #II in the Acronis Support Sticky titled <Please Read Before You Post> for details.

Try entering MD=OFF on the command line

The MD=OFF got rid of the hang.

It is still intermittent and still will sometimes recognize the card reader as drives. I can try setting these to floppy mode in the BIOS (right now, these USB devices are set to AUTO to figure out whether to treat as a floppy or scsi drive).

Attached is the sysinfo when it works right

It's possible that leaving a card in the card reader would help.
