    Hi

i really like sandboxie and i bought it
i run under windows 7 , and i have only nod32 v5 av , and anti malware (mam)

well i did notice that in the folder c:\$Recycle.Bin there is inside a folder called
    S-1-5-21-2594508308-366881178-1179055035-1000

and inside many many many folders of sandboxies

and i was able to delete them only using ubuntu

i did discover these folders using total commander 7.55

can someone please confirm or check ?

i tried every tips to delete theses folders but nothing
only a linux distro or a installed ubuntu can get rid of them

    i would appreciate it
    thanks!
    cheers

    Re: please

I just have desktop.ini inside that folder.

I don't run any AV , maybe your issue is related to that, can't really tell.
I'm also on win7-32bit, using total commander.

    Re: please

Maybe it's something in Sandboxie settings.
    Obviously sandboxie is creating them.
I only set drop rights and file access restrictions, everything else is default.

When you delete those files with ubuntu they appear again ?

if i use sandboxie , yes they appear again
every time i delete the folders created by sandboxie , i have in the c:\$Recycle.Bin many folders
and the only way to delete them is linux o_O

    Re: please

I just allow firefox and utorrent file access to the Download folder.

That has nothing to do with your issue, maybe you have something else configured in Sandboxie which does something to the Recycle Bin , I don't know.
or maybe something else is 'wrong' with your system, could be a number of things.

    Re: sanboxie & windows 7 32bit issue

    Hi,

I have configured Sandboxie to securely erase its boxes using Eraser, but i 'm also discovering files of the form "C:\$RECYCLE.BIN\S-1-5-21-blah-blah.......\$blahblahblah.lnk" (which are related to sandboxes) in my Recycle Bin.

The only way to get rid of them is to erase Recycle Bin contents by running Eraser as administrator -otherwise, i 'm getting a "The file could not be erased because the file's permissions prevent access to the file" error message.

    Re: sanboxie & windows 7 32bit issue

I haven't tried EraserDrop, but if there is a way to erase files as administrator, i think it should work.

edit: BTW, in case of a corrupted Recycle Bin...

    Mantra,

I have the same issue on 64bit. Tried all the potential resolutions noted here and elsewhere.

I was about to post in the Privacy forum for more exposure from the members who don't visit the virtualisation forum frequently. What do you think?

    weird

    maybe
i found the only way is a linux disto , ubuntu
i got ubuntu 10.10 installed and with **** + delete i can rid of these (after some weeks) tons of folders

weird because i used lsoft Active@ BootDisk(Live CD)" based on vista winpe" and i'm able to delete them
but the new boot disk based on w7 winpe is not able to delete these folder

    o_O o_O

Yeah, I've done that with locked files before. Will give it a try here too.

    Thanks

    Re: Eraser 6

Yes. I have also tried successfully the "SDelete" command line utility (as SB's secure deletion option).
