    Should I uninstall or overwrite?

Also anyone have any idea how to setup sbie to erase with eraser? When i look under sandbox settings for defaultbox I see a button for Eraserl. I assume its supposed to be for Eraser but it doesnt work as it looks for eraserl.exe and wont accept eraser.exe. This is with version 3.38. Thanks.

I've always used the upgrade option with Sandboxie and never had a problem. Eraserl if I recall is the eraser launcher, to support cmd line use.

I upgrade and don't have any problems.

    To use Heidi Eraser. download

Once you have it on your computer configure a few settings, like disable Start Scheduler at Windows startup (if you don't want another start up item at boot), click Edit, click Preferences, click General, click Scheduler, untick Start Scheduler at Windows startup (this is the only annoyance with Eraser)

The go back to click Edit, Preferences, and click Erasing, put the default erasing setting on something other than Gutmann. Last time I checked the Gutmann setting is the default for right click explorer integration - you can click add this feature in erasing preferences.

To use Heidi Eraser with Sandboxie use this command: %SystemRoot%\System32\eraserl.exe -folder "%SANDBOX%" -subfolders -method DoD_E -queue -resultsonerror

Paste into Sandboxie control panel deletion Command.

    Toodles.

    Keyboard Commando,
Tried to get what you suggested to work but how can I tell if Eraser is actually working? What should I be seeing in the log to indicate it is working and thanks.

Have a look at the link. Apparently the command you used will only report if there is an error. Try removing the error part from the command to %SystemRoot%\System32\eraserl.exe -folder "%SANDBOX%" -subfolders -method DoD_E -queue -results
This way you should get a report everytime you delete

Open taskmanager, then close a sandbox - if you have auto delete ticked, or just delete the contents of a sandbox - you should see Sandboxie's Start.exe and Eraserl.exe initiate and close together. Mine takes about 1 second for this process to come and go. The queue command will delete everything no matter how many invocations you instigate. So you shouldn't have any undeleted sandboxes - I haven't noticed any with mine. So long as you notice Start.exe and Eraserl.exe briefly appearing in taskmanger you should be good.

Try "Random" instead of "Pseudorandom Data"

Doesn't work. I have tried this. Some people use CCleaner - it has 1 wipe option. Haven't tried it myself.

BTW, I did try searching through the forums to see if anyone else had Pseudorandom Data to work but didn't find anything. So if anyone knows the correct command please tell :p

Using Eraser 5.7, the commandline I use is:

    Code:
"C:\Program Files\Eraser\eraserl.exe" -folder "%SANDBOX%" -subfolders -method Random 1 -resultsonerror -queue
I'm getting confused now between Random and Pseudorandom o_O

    Tried before but get error.

Now useing ''Only first and last 2KB'' 1 Passes for fast delete.

This syntax works on my system. Gives one random pass and a report when finished. Using Eraser 5.7.
    Code:
"D:\Program Files\Eraser\ERASERL.EXE" -folder "%SANDBOX%" -subfolders -method random 1 -results -queue
Make certain that all spaces and hyphens are present.
If you want, you can launch the task manager before erasing the sandbox and see the process as it starts.

Sorry to ask this in some elses thread but my question is also about Sandboxie and Heidi Eraser. I have Heidi Eraser v5.8.7 installed, but when i tried to pick the Eraserl option in Sandboxie v3.40 i do not seem to have the file eraserl.exe on my hard drive? o_O

I tried to see if it was a hidden file but even if my file manager shows those hidden files it is not there. I tried uninstalling and then re-installing Heidi Eraser, but even then it does not show up?

Random 1 command works. Thanks for posting.

Morro, It's easier to paste a command into the Sandboxie deletion section, rather than linking to the eraserl.exe file.

%SystemRoot%\System32\eraserl.exe -folder "%SANDBOX%" -subfolders -method DoD_E -queue -resultsonerror

^^ that is the recommended command on Sandboxie website here
