Unfortunately, the problem of the crashing Firefox with version 1.66 has not yet been resolved. https://github.com/sandboxie-plus/sandboxie/issues/2588 Firefox 108 freezes 1-2 times since 1.53 a day, at: UsePrivacyMode=y UseSecurityMode=y Sabine Win11, SB1.66
Hmm, could it be unique to Windows 11? The freezing is not there in Firefox 108/Windows 10/Sandboxie 1.6.6 all day, every day. Same two ini settings also. I will check this issue on my Windows 11 drive when I feel like installing it.
@DavidXanatos : Should I first reset to SB 1.52 to check whether the error: "UseprivacyMode = Y compatibility with Windows 7 #2423 fixed" has to do with it, or do I not have to test it?
The problem reported in https://github.com/sandboxie-plus/Sandboxie/issues/2588 was for Firefox 108 on Windows 10. It reported random startup failures for Firefox 108 that began with SBIE+ 1.5.3. It fails to start properly 1 out of every 10 to 20 startups. The problem is associated with UsePrivacyMode=y. The github report was recently updated to include finding that the problem appears to be related to WriteFilePath=drive entries (which Sandboxie generates behind the scenes for UsePrivacyMode=y) combined with programs that initiate multiple processes (like firefox) on startup. The problem went away by changing UsePrivacyMode to 'n', adding ClosedFilePath=drive entries and adding UseRuleSpecificity=y. Refer to the github problem report for more information.
