In this update, several improvements and fixes have been introduced to enhance the stability and functionality of Sandboxie Plus.

A new capability has been added to the service, allowing it to log monitor events, providing users with additional insights and diagnostics.

The Notepad++ template has been updated to ensure compatibility with Sandboxie Classic, improving usability for users of the legacy version. Additionally, MiscHelpers.dll has been updated with enhancements to the finder, contributing to improved performance and reliability.

Several issues have been resolved in this release. Obsolete entries in the Sandboxie Plus installer have been removed, ensuring a cleaner installation process. An issue where pinned shortcuts created via the 'Run from Start Menu' option were non-functional has been fixed, addressing reported concerns (#4502). A potential Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) issue with the driver under low-resource conditions has been resolved, improving overall system stability.

Further refinements include fixing a crash occurring in NsiAllocateAndGetTable, thanks to a report from tzf-omkey (#4511). Additionally, two memory leaks have been addressed: one occurring when a sandboxed process received a device change notification, and another affecting the NtQueryDirectoryFile hook, which previously manifested in privacy-enhanced sandboxes (#4509).

This update ensures a more robust and efficient experience for Sandboxie Plus users. As always, feedback and reports from the community are invaluable in maintaining and improving the software.

For a full list of changes please review the change log.

Do not know since this was he first time for a year or 2 i tried it. Just tried the former version of CLASSIC (wrong thread?), and it also crasched with stop code: Memory management. Also - ntoskrnl. When starting Edge in sandboxie, it starts without my add-ons. So that has something with it to do.

How shall i give you the dump?
When looking up on the net where i can find dumps, it says different things, and i can not find those items. So you will have to give me the CORRECT FULL PATH if you want one.

I have the update check set to every day.
My machine has been on all of today mainly using the Default box (Vivaldi)

After closing Vivaldi and it auto emptying I later opened Edge in red to check a website and then closed Edge.
It wouldn't terminate and empty and when I opened the GUI to end it manually I saw the the update check box was preventing Edge from terminating. Once I said no to the update checker the sandbox emptied.

This is new behaviour for me. My default box has been opened and closed quite a few times today. Edge a couple of times and it emptied normally.
Is there a set time for the update check?

After yesterday's Windows update, Sandboxie Plus started working very slowly. I updated from 1.14 to 1.15.7, and there was no improvement. Is the latest Windows update (Windows 11 64 bit) incompatible with Sandboxie Plus now? It was working fine yesterday before the Windows update. This seems to be mainly with Firefox.

The question I also had David is should the update check window be able to stop sandboxie closing and emptying when I close the browser.
Only answering the update window allowed the sandbox to empty and terminate.
This is new behaviour for me.

@stapp @DavidXanatos I can confirm that the update dialog is blocking the interface operations. (CheckForUpdates=2)

The underlying problem is that the QT UI is single threaded, I'll look if there is an elegant way of fixing that.

On one pc, even though nothing gets erased when Edge is closed using 15.7, whenever the pc is restarted, Edge shows the coockie notification of accepting when first start in SB-P.

The latest Firefox Beta 137.1 through to 137.4 crashes the tabs on start with this classic version (50.7.7) and the last. I think you already know about this David but haven`t seen it mentioned here before it gets pushed to main.

Windows 10 x64 latest updates installed, same on 11.

You can mitigate the issue by switching the default "security.sandbox.content.level" in about:config from 8 to 7 but that`s not going to fly with the majority...

I updated Firefox to 137.0.2, security.sandbox.content.level is set to 8, and it seems to work fine with quite an older Sandboxie Classic version. What should I do to try crashing Firefox? OS: Windows 10 x64.

Any idea? Should it be crashing or it doesn't affect all FF 137 / older SBIE combos?

Shouldn't you be using the most recent version of Sandboxie?

I have a specific setup and am running an older Sandboxie version with it. Anyway, anyone else had no problems with Firefox v137+ and Sandboxie Classic under v5.70? I've updated Firefox to 138.0 today and still had no problems under older Sandboxie. Thank you.

I say that because there was a specific bug fixed in 5.70.9 that affects anything older than 137. Anyways, I was just trying to help. Lesson learned. That won't happen gain.
