    Hi @ Wilders

I need some help to divine whether Sandboxie Plus is for me. Many years ago I used what would be now called Sandboxie Classic and I became moderately proficient in using it. I should say I am not a Techie and don't wish to be. So I suppose it could be said I am a "point and shoot" individual.

Recently I had a scare which provoked me to return to sandboxing but I chose Sandboxie Plus this time. I am however finding it somewhat difficult, having forgotten most of what I learned from using the original Sandboxie. In addition the myriad of new features available does not help. At this stage I am not a contributor so a lot of the new features are not available to me.

I decided to write this post after reading David Xanatos's thread on a roadmap for Sandboxie Classic.

I just wonder whether I might be better off with the classic version and would I be really losing out by just opting for simplicity over security?

Appreciate any views members may have.

One final point if I moved back to Classic can I retain my settings from Plus?

    Thanks

    Terry

I would really discourage the use of classic, it lacks really a lot of features at this point.
And the plus UI has since a couple of builds now a Vintage View mode which makes it look and feal like classic.

Especially if you have already forgotten how to use classic, as you say, its a perfect opportunity to get used to the new UI,
it has a huge amount of quality of life improvements:
    • It looks much more modern
    • It brings new features also to not supporters,
    1. like Snapshots,
    2. much better file browse panel,
    3. ability to import/export sandboxed to and from *.7z files
    • the important lists are all Searchable with Ctrl+F, also the entire options/setting windows is searchable
    • it brings a universal browser compatibility wizard alowing you quickly to create tempaltes for yet unknown browser types (as long as they are chromium or firefox based)
    • configurable run menu
    • start menu integration of sandboxes
    And much more...

Also weren’t there a bunch of bugs/issues on the old sandboxie, you fixed on the new one.

Well the new sandboxie classic contains all the fixes, so its fine just don't use some old build no mater which flavor.
