I've been thinking... what about if Tzuk has an accident, like a car crash or a bad love affair?

    It would (will) be terrible.
    There's nothing to replace Sandboxie!

Not even the paid sandbox programs are as effective. We are dependant on one guy.

What's next? How's life after Sandboxie? We have to consider and prevent it. My browsing experience changed after I found this app... I don't want to go back to the days where I wanted to open that page but didn't dare.

Crap... why do I think about everything...

I assume the project would be taken over by someone else. And there are other (free even) applications that have similar functions.

The thing is that,as Jose Lisbon says, there's nothing quite as good as Sandboxie around. The closest alternative would be Bufferzone I suppose, but it's not as light as SBIE.Let's just hope Tzuk remains willing and able for a long time to come.

In my humble opinion, it is best to stay on topic with discussion about the new version, and leave speculation about the developer's health and private life out of the equation. From recent past experience, I can assure you that tzuk would prefer it that way.

    Hello!

I'm having some problems with the Chrome + Sandboxie.

    First:

If I have a PDF file on the PC and I drag to Chrome (It should open) but just nothing happens. Does anyone else have this problem?

With Chrome out of the sandbox it opens normally.

    Second:

If I press "About Google Chrome" it gives error, can not run GoogleUpdateOnDemand.exe even added it to the exceptions.

    Third:

The spell checker does not work with Chrome sandboxed. If I remove from the sandbox the spell checker back to work.

    And the last:

Norton Safe Web is unstable at times it blocks malicious pages and at other times not.

Does anyone else have these problems?

If it happens to more people I will post on the forum Sandboxie.

    Sorry for my English.

Spellchecker probably just needs file access to the dicionary in your User_Data folder.

    IDK about the others.

Same thing happens for me with Chrome. It does work with IE8, fwiw.

I think you have to give both Internet and Start/Run access to both GoogleUpdateOnDemand.exe and GoogleUpdate.exe.

If you haven't already, try this Chrome spellchecker. Maybe it will work better.

Sorry, I don't use Norton Safe Web.

Sandboxie forum is probably your best bet.

Also, for general ease of use with Chrome, if you haven't already done so, make sure that these exclusions are checked...

Thank you both for your help!

I spent the afternoon trying to solve these bugs, but without much success.

    1. The PDF does not work even I tried in various ways, just outside the box.
    2. I decided that, Page42 was right, gave access to both and it worked.
    3. I also tried but failed, the Spell Checker that you recommended does not work right in my language (PT-BR).
    4. Also unsuccessfully.

    Thanks again!

I'll post these problems in the Sandboxie forum, this is the correct area?

    Hi Extreme

Glad to be of at least a partial help!
FYI, PDF files will open in SBIE... I just haven't been able to do it via the drag & drop method you described.
Are you saying you are unable to open a PDF file in SBIE?
I force them and give permission to foxitreader.exe and it works fine, except I am now allowing Chrome to open the PDF files.
If you are not able to open a PDF file in SBIE, we need to figure out why.

PS - Your English is always very good. :thumb:

Sorry, I expressed myself badly, I can open PDF files (Open With), but in "drag & drop" not. Thanks for the correction.

I just do not have any PDF reader installed, only the SumatraPDF portable, but I would only use Chrome as a PDF reader.

With the help of Google Translator, any language is easy. :D :D

    Two curious questions. :)

    1) How "light" is sandboxie?
    2) Do they offer license giveaways and things like that?

To me, it feels like its not there. It stays around 15/20 MB and CPU usage always shows 0.

I seen some giveaways but are rare. SBIE is the only program that I recommend 100%. If you purchase the license, you wont regret it.

    1) Lighter than almost every other security programs. Only Windows built-in policies, DNS settings, and maybe some HIPS are lighter.

    2) Extremely rare, only ones I've found are for a limited number of users.
