ah yes of course sorry im half asleep, I'm glad they fixed the bookmarks for firefox 3 I was gonna post that problem on thier forums.

But I wasn't aware of any conflict with admuncher, because my ad muncher has been working fine along side version 3.22

Do we uninstall the previous version first or can it be installed 'over the top'?

The installer will ask if you want to upgrade, so yes, just install over the top.

Thank you. That's good because it've got a number of sandboxes set up and didn't fancy having to reset them all up again. :)

    Hi,

Does anyone use McAfee's site advisor plugin for IE with SBIE ?

It seems to me it does not (I mean it stays inactive). Any remedy ?

    Thanks.

    Just an idea ...

Can you open an extra browser, outside the sandbox ?
You should then be able to check the site with that browser.
    But I don't know if that's possible.

Tommy, I'm running Opera 9.25 within the latest Sandboxie without any problems up to now.
Maybe wait until the Opera is out of beta to test.

Opera Beta 9.5 worked fine with the former version of Sandboxie. Will do a clean install of Sandboxy.

    P.S.
Same efect. Firefox, etc. no problem. Opera 9.50 beta Build 9815 crashes.

    UPDATE

I have now found a small glitch in sandboxie
    Having made a new sandbox
and using browsing with Opera in the new sandbox
on closing the browser Opera disappears from the sandbox as normal
but when I go to remove the new sandbox
I get a message saying that I can not remove it until the sandbox is empty
when I go to empty sandbox it says there is nothing in it
The way I got round it was putting Opera back in the sandbox and remove contents
    then deleted the sandbox

    Hmmm, another issue.

They'll all eventually be found out then dealt with accordingly i'm sure, but as for me i'm not quite yet sold on 3.24 and opting to stay with the version i'm at untill at least i can get a grip on the new .ini configs, you know the bracket thing <>.

I do like the added feature of additional sandboxing now though.

Another issue that I had recently with this same version of Sandboxie (though I didn't put it down to Sandboxie at the time)
was that after browsing in Opera, running Sandboxie within Shadow Defender (Shadow Mode) the objects that made up my screen started going haywire, the mouse control was diminished, everything was deteriorating.
I was using Windows 2000 Pro, my drive was only 30 gig with 7 gigs remaing so I put it down to drive reaching it's limit.
    I closed down.
I used migrate easy to move to an 80 gig drive and that particular problem did not occur after that...so I'm not sure...but just thought that I'd mention it.

    Re: Sandboxie

I'm pretty new to Sandbox and have read the FAQ's + Tutorial but still come away pretty confused.

I understand that anything download, bookmarked or whatever done while sandboxing disappears when you empty it unless you know how to do the "recovery thing". I still do not. Could somebody explain it to me in very simple terms please?

Also, how long can one go without emptying Sandbox? How do you know when it's time to delete it's contents or empty it I mean? I have the free version and the thing confuses the heck out of me.

    Thanks so much.

    Re: Sandboxie

There are several things you could do to make things easier on yourself. You couold set things up so that you are prompted on things you download so they are not erased when you empty the sandox. To do this to the config:

Change D: to the location of your choice.

That should help with that aspect. As far as deleting the sandbox, that can be configured to empty when all the applications/folders that are sandboxed are closed. To do this enable the first option under 'delete' > 'invocation'.
