I get irritated with these "direct to the consumer" stores. Since they eliminate the middleman I feel the products should be available at reduced prices. But they always charge full retail. Oh well.
I wasn't surprised, or even acting surprised. As I said, they always charge full retail. But by them cutting out the middle man, who always buy at a substantial volume discount, they could sell to consumers at a discount and still make more than if they sold to that middle man. It would still be a win win for Samsung and the consumer. Yes, now they have their own brick and mortar store to pay for, and their own sales staff, but I am pretty sure there is still some decent wiggle room in there.
