same problem, different year!!!

    Here is the link from last year's problem. Same thing is happening again.

    AVG Anti-Spyware arbitrarily adds the number 8 before the default scanning profile, then it quits scanning on schedule. Same exact problem as last year, except the number added was changed. Instead of 7 it is 8 this time.

    Since I am the one who has to go around to 100+ computers and install AVG, I know how it was done. AVG was uninstalled, the computer was rebooted, AVG was reinstalled, the license code was entered (cut and paste, so no chance of typos), default scanning profile set up, scheduled and enabled a daily scan.

    WHYo_O?

    Any suggestions besides not using AVG again next year?

    Hi, ron.

    Frankly, if we are talking about the antispyware here, you won't have a chance to experience this problem next year. AVG has, in their great wisdom, decided to "merge" AS functionality directly into the AV thus abandoning the AS version. Reading from the threads here, support should end at the end of year.

    I doubt they dedicate any effort anymore at fixing this issue.
