Does the FaceBook version of SafeOnline offer everything found in Prevx 3.0 free version?

    Yes it does.
There are some minor differences between SafeOnline GUI and Prevx GUI though. It looks different of course and the SafeOnline GUI has some notifications off by default to make for a more smooth user experience, also with malware detected, but I'm not sure exactly how that works. However I do know that with changing the heuristics settings, it 'thinks' you're a more advanced user and will show more notifications.
Perhaps Joe (PrevxHelp) can explain in more detail when notifications are shown and when not.

This is exactly correct :) SafeOnline hides a lot of the Prevx warning messages and tries to make the user experience as easy as possible because SafeOnline does not require malware to be removed - it is circumvented to provide security to your browser. SafeOnline also has a different install process which is more straightforward and requires less user interaction and the GUI is skinned differently but fundamentally it is still the same technology.

Joe, one quick question, if you initiate a scan yourself I assum SafeOnline does show found threats?

Now, have stated before and will do it again!

Joe - why do you not create a sticky explaining the differences between free vs paid prevx and free vs paid safeonlineo_O ?

Some people don't use/see/realize the search function.

Yes :) We plan on making a FAQ/updated help file and more informative sticky threads in the near future. This will likely all come in a few weeks depending on other questions we see come in.

Joe - So if a user is given this, Free or SafeOnline, it would be more beneficial to get the SafeOnline version? Even the Facebook SOL?

Facebook version is a free full version of SafeOnline with malware detection only not removal! So it is better than the plain free version! So go get the Facebook version! ;) http://www.facebook.com/pages/Prevx...evx-SafeOnline/254680228961?v=app_11007063052 or here http://info.prevx.com/download.asp?GRAB=PREVXFACEBOOK more info http://www.prevx.com/safebook.asp

Is the version on FaceBook connected with them in anyway shape or form? I get nervous writing my grandmother in that site let alone downloading something with their name on it so im just making sure. Just seems like walking into the lions den to get something to protect from the lion that lives there :)

No it's just a free promotion for Facebook users from Prevx! Read the ad from the Prevx website http://www.prevx.com/safebook.asp

Just saw this on that page:
"Health check - Tells you if there is a gap in your PCs security and advises what you should do to fix it"

What is this exactly, just a check for active malware, or does it really look for vulnerabilities and checks settings?

Being one of the winners in the SafeOnline contest, I decided to use my license yesterday. Activated 3 computers and one of them had 2 infections (downloaded files from utorrent almost a decade ago). I've used aVast, MSE, and Panda Cloud but none of them alerted to the infected files (.exe).

Also, Prevx is running with no impact at all and I'm quite impressed with the progress of Prevx. The question now is, why did I not stay with Prevx? I must have missed so much. :) SafeOnline is definitely a great addition!! :) Keep up the great work Prevx!! I will be staying here for a while. 3 years and more. :D

Good Question for Joe! IMO it just checks for active malware then notifies you!

It will look primarily for malware. We have functions in place which can let banks/VPN providers check for missing patches/vulnerabilities by using Prevx to analyze the PC but we don't currently offer that as a consumer-facing feature :)
