    Hi there,

if you download SafeOnline 3.0.5b185 (not PrevX) and then want to manual check for new version and update to b187 it don't work, because it says "You are currently using the newest version.." o_O

    Please fix that! :cautious:

    regards,

It might be the same case as Joe described here https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=1727083&postcount=18

Yes, this is correct :) We don't put out updates to everywhere immediately (and probably won't for some time still over 185 as 185 is quite stable).

However, you can manually update if you wish :)

I think he means manually clicking "check for updates" doesn't work. This won't work yet if you have an official release version installed (like .185); you would have to wait. If really you want the update now, you need to download it and install it.

But the changes between .185 and .187 are minor so you don't need to do it unless there is an issue addressed in the change log.

If you do want more instant updates you could install a beta version then "check for updates" will update immediately. You will still get the official release versions too. This is what Triple Helix does because he always wants the latest version. I prefer a version that's "behind the curve" and usually only an official one (though there's little difference); each to their own :D

Thanks for properly interpreting it, pling_man :D You are exactly correct - if clicking "Check for updates" manually doesn't work, then you can manually apply an update by downloading the new version directly, or just wait for the automatic one to be released :)
