My system is Windows 10 Home, I have an SSD. I have been using BleachBit to delete the cache and temporary files from Firefox and Chrome. I saw today that BleachBit doesn't work on an SSD as it does on an HDD. My question is what safe software should I be using on the SSD? I have a few old HDDs that I would like to wipe before disposing of them so BleachBit should be safe to use on them, right? As always, I will appreciate all replies and would thank you in advance. John
To be honest i would not recommend using and form of cleaners. Firefox has the ability to delete it's own cache upon exit and chrome relies on cacheing to give it it's speed. With an SSD i seriously would not bother with cleaning software purely to reduce the read/writes on the drive.
BleachBit works fine on ssds I have wiped sandisk ssd with no issue How ever that is not to say it will work on all makes and models. + I use it on windows 11 on a ssd to clean files and so forth.
In many cases the SSD manufacturer has utilities you can use for such things. Check their website and see what is available.
