Is there such a thing as a "safe" registry cleaner?

What could be considered the safest?

I noticed Regseeker in that link. That's the one i have used for a long time with no problems. Just thought i'd give it a plug.;)

Here's a link to the sight.

As with all registry cleaners, backup, backup, backup. ;)

I have been using Regcleaner and Registry First Aid for years. After reading about various registry cleaners in the mentioned thread, I decided to give RegSupreme a go. It is the fastest and most thorough I have ever tried. It also prompts you to make a backup every single time you use it.

    RegSupreme is my pick.

Of the few I have tried I think jv16PowerTools is best for me. I like the colour coded entries. A couple of weeks ago I tried RegSupreme and immediately deleted the "rubbish". Thank heavens for system restore.

I use System Suite 4.0 tools to take care of my registry issues. It works. Can not say if the System Suite line of products is better. I guess most of you know me well enough by now....cheap, cheap, cheap. It was in a mashed box, in a shopping cart at Staples, discontinued. Only $14. :D

    Snowbound , or other,
When you use regseeker do you let it fix all that it finds? Is there some way to verify what is safe, or is it just a guess and hope backups work if problems occur?
Are there some things that are safer to remove than others?
Does anyone know what the red entries are vs those in green. (I heard someone say that they never had any trouble if they just deleted the green entries). I could find no help fies with regseeker to explain these. Thank you
