    Hi

Problem is Trusteer Rapport causes BSODs.

    Thanks

I have no such problems on my three Window 7 machines, all have the same security and work well, Prevx 3.0, Norton 2012, Secunia PSI, and Trusteer Rapport.

Not at the moment but we will have one in a future release. Trusteer Rapport doesn't replace SafeOnline so you won't have the same functionality. I'd probably recommend just using SafeOnline for now or the trial version of the "Essentials" product which includes the SafeOnline protection in it.

Yes, but that will at least give you time to try it out. I don't know if we'll have the free version ready by then but there is a lot more to SecureAnywhere than just SafeOnline so you may see value in the other features.

What safeonline has that trusteer rapport doesn't? apart from that safeonline is bypassed in the MRG tests and is not being updated.

PrevxHelp "Trusteer Rapport doesn't replace SafeOnline" are you sure ? over at MRG their Effitas Antilogger & Browser Security Test RESULTS gave Trusteer Rapport a Silent block and Prevx SafeOnline a Silent bypass. So if I was looking for a free bit of software to protect me online I may want to think twice about your suggestion.

Against threats actually in the wild, SafeOnline is still completely effective. SafeOnline will also protect you on all websites instead of just specific domains and it has the rest of the antimalware protection behind it in case anything did happen to slip by the SafeOnline protection itself.

Can we run both Trusteer Rapport and SafeOnline together?
    SafeOnline is also an anti-virus?
With Prevx merged into Webroot, will SOL disappear eventually?

SafeOnline and Rapport are not fully compatible so you may run into problems, however, you can use Prevx 3.0 with Rapport. SafeOnline is also an antivirus (it uses the P3 engine) and with Prevx merged with Webroot, SafeOnline itself will be replaced with Identity Shield - effectively an improved version of SafeOnline in SecureAnywhere (with the same set of features available).

Just to add that Identity Shield only comes with Webroot SecureAnywhere Essentials and Complete only, not the AV only version! ;) Congrats to PrevxHelp on surpassing the 6000 post mark it shows how much he looks after us!!

Triple Helix "Just to add that Identity Shield only comes with Webroot SecureAnywhere Essentials and Complete only, not the AV only version"
Hi, I am about to purchase the new Webroot (UK), too impatient to wait for my existing Prevx licences to be upgraded. Had originally intended going for the Complete version, but not requiring the Identity Theft, Password Management or Mobile Device Protection had started veering more towards the Webroot Essentials. However your comments gave me pause for thought, if I go for the AV only version, continue to run NIS 2012 with its excellent firewall in place, and Trusteer Rapport as before, I should be on a winner ? Cash is not the consideration, it's more about getting a good balance. What do you think ?

Installed as a complement to Symantec/Rapport, you should probably be fine with just the AV product because of the partial incompatibilities between Rapport/SafeOnline (now Identity Shield).

Let me know if you have any questions!

What exactly would be the difference between Identity Shield Free and the one in Essentials? Or will SOL Free be replaced with a "better" product?

It will be the same Identity Shield, although the Essentials product will have all of the additional protection (firewall, etc.)

Why is there an IP address look-up in your link?

Oh, I missed those. If that IP address is being wrongly reported by Trusteer, it should be reported to Trusteer by those using Trusteer. :)
