What's the file version? Should be 5.1.2600.2180.

Good. You're half-way there. Insert your original XP CD, and browse to E:\i386. Click OK.

C:\i386 is a backup made by Dell of your original Windows install files. Should work just as well as your original XP CD.

Here the file is named SRFRAME.MM_. If it does not work for you, then try the CD.

What was the error? Did it just beeb? When it works, you will be prompted to restart. The System Restore service will be set to Automatic, and you will have a RunOnce registry key which will set a restore point when you restart.

Is your Dell CD a restore CD or an actual Microsoft CD? If it's a restore CD, then you will have to search the CD for the file. Hopefully, it will be there.

Nick, I had to wait till I got back home to respond. Everything seems fine now. I had read what you said about it is supposed to as for a reboot, which it didn't,only said it failed. So I rebooted anyway ,went to System Properties and everything seems to work. I really thank you and the rest of the people for the help.
