Run as dialog box on limited user WinXP

I am running WindowsXP Prof under a limited user.

Whenever I want to change a "critical" setting in Nod, like for example temporarily disable the protection or change the update user/password, I get the "Run As" dialog box. I select the correct admin account/password, but then nothing happens.

I have all the "User interface" -> "Access setup" setting enabled.

Can you start any other app (e.g. notepad.exe) via RunAs and the same credentials?

 

You could always use SuRun. It has been discussed here on this forum if you want to read about it. It has worked better than any credential raising utility I have used.
