Rufus as a tool that can help making bootable media or regular installation of Linux is often conssidered as specialy useful for old Windows like XP and Vista - v. 3 have abandoned such systems. :doubt:

Guys I'm a bit confused, what is the difference between creating a recovery drive and creating a bootable USB drive? I've created a recovery USB stick, isn't this enough in case PC's can't boot up from SSD/HDD?

The recovery drive, as I understand it, is used to reinstall/repair the existing Win 10 ver. you have installed. Whereas a bootable USB drive with Win 10 ISO included allows you to install/upgrade to a new Win 10 vers..

OK I see. I just want access to my data in case my PC can't boot from the SSD.

Is there any Rufus for Dummies Guide anywhere on how to use this "step by step"?

    beethoven,

This is what I do. Start Rufus, plug in your UFD. Accept the Rufus defaults.
Drag the ISO file to the Boot selection field.
In Partition scheme, choose MBR or GPT. You will know where the UFD is intended to be used.
    Start.
