RollBack Rx V9 critical update notification:

RollBack Rx V9 users:

A critical update build has been created for RollBack Rx V9. If you have downloaded/ evaluated or purchased RollBack Rx Version 9 after January 2009; please accept this notification to update your current version 9 installation to the latest build.

The first cut of RollBack Rx V9 had a critical bug that affects its' device drivers that virtualize the Windows pagefiles for faster system bootup and system performance.

Known Issue: When shutting down a PC. Windows should wait for all processes and threads to exit and complete before shutting down the PC. Unfortunately, we found that in some cases, Windows immediately shuts down regardless of any pending/running processes or threads.

In some rare cases where the PC shuts down before RollBack Rx closes the pagefile virtulization, there could be data in the pagefile that's not committed to the hard disk... Therefore the data on the hard disk could become inconsistent - missing the pieces from the pagefile. In some instances the Windows chkdsk will appear on reboots....

The latest build 2694078476 has been updated April 24th - and it is recommeded that all RollBack Rx V9 users updated to this new build.

If you have installed RollBack Rx V9 you will need to update to the latest build. You can download the latest build from the following url:

Users of RollBack Rx V8 can disregard this critical update, as this update is only for users who have installed the first release of RollBack Rx Version 9 since January 2009 only.
