    Thanks, Puff... but be aware, there are already issues with this new version, pls tread lightly.

    The main issue for me is that the CUSTOM install option (used for single partition protection rather than the whole disk) no longer exists. It is offered during installation but never gets invoked during the process. It appears to be a glitch so it should be corrected soon... I hope.:doubt:

    Thanks for the info. It is running smooth here on Vista 64 bit, but I did use the default setup. It seems to be running both a little bit smoother and faster than the previous version. It will take a bit tho to get used to the new icons and logos but I even think I like them a bit better also :D .....

    Hi Frog,

    Very same problem here - I reported it to HDS, but most issues I report to them fall into a 'black hole'.

    Does any one has an idea why they changed the logo and icons etc? Just curious.

    @RollbackFrog @Aaron
    The Custom setup should still be available with the new Rollback build and choosing a partition to protect should still be an option
    @Aigle
    The company logo redesign is part our marketing strategy to focus only on our ISR solutions (Rollback Rx, Drive Vaccine and Drive Cloner)
    Plus we think they look at lot more "professional" than the previous one. Feel free to comment :)

    CSatHorizon, that was *NOT* the case when the 18Jul release was issued... that's why the warning to this group. That didn't get fixed until a stealth release was issued in early August, and that release had the same version as 18July, which completely confused everybody.

    HDS really needs to get their act together when changes are made, even minor ones. How the heck are we, the users, supposed to know when an issue has been dealt with when it gets fixed without notice of any kind, no version change, no change notes/changelog and absolutely no notification of any kind. It's like a BLACK HOLE over there sometimes.

    Uhhhhh, based on my comment above, do you think you could do the same thing with your Development Group? :D

    Sorry, just couldn't resist... :)

    We apologize for that and we do admit we got a lot of negative feedback with the silent update as we wanted to get it out as soon as we found the issue with XP machines. We'll hope to be more transparent with the build updates and possibly plan to release beta builds in our HDS forums for testing with you guys as well

    That would be a major step toward overall RELEASE improvement. I, for one, would be happy to participate in any BETA Rollback RX program. I have "trashable" platforms and NO FEAR to go along with them:D

    I really do like the product, just not the way the releases have been managed. If HDS decides on the above, pls don't forget to inform your own FORUMs of such.

    I'm not sure when this will start (possibly on the next build) but it would surely be posted on HDS forum first, and possibly available first to regular posters/ members such as yourselves

    CSatHorizon, I notice the 50% discount for Rollback Rx at Facebook on the bottom of your post. Not being a follower of Facebook, is this 50% discount available outside of Facebook? Thanks in advance for your response. :)

    @twl845. Sorry for the late response. The sale ended on September 5.

    We will always have our Facebook Fan discount coupon code (thanks @Ziaul). but we occasionally have the 50% sale direct purchase links posted on our Facebook wall.

    Our next sale would be on November 23 and would run through the whole Thanksgiving weekend.

    I don't know if this is the proper place to bring this issue or not. I have tested Rollback Rx several times on my three machines. Each time, on any machine, when I restart the computer, I get the error, the computer didn't shut down properly. It goes into "checking disk on improver shutdown". And, then after few times, I run chkdsk. It gives me several errors, while Rollback Rx is installed or not.

    I have narrowed it down to this happening when O&O Disk Image is installed on my computer at the same time. Even with the latest recently released v6 of O&O, I get the same error.

    Any help?

    May thanks,

    KOR!

    @KOR. Yes, we've had a couple of users reporting the BSOD issue when an improper shutdown of the machine has been made using the new build (Version: 9.1 Build: 2696359952), though I don't think it has to do with you having O&O Disk Image installed.

    The issue somewhat resolves itself after 2-3 restarts and the chkdsk run. It is also resolvable by reverting to a saved snapshot.

    Only a few users are affected and our development team is aware of this issue. We'll keep you posted regarding this matter

    Thanks for your reply. I used to be the King of Format, and maybe I still am.

    For one complete year, whenever I reformatted, I could use different versions of Rollback Rx during trial period. Evevy restart, it will give me, "improper shutdown". I will play with, un-install programs and so forth to find the culprit, and eventually I recently found it to be O&O DiskImage. Even the new version 6, does the same. Can you development team, try it out at your place?

    I have brought this issue here on this forum long time ago, at that time I was not aware that O&O DiskImage was the culprit. The Rollback Rx experts here on this forum tried to help me, especially Aaron Here. We tried lots of things, but eventually, Aaron Here gave up too, saying that I have bad hard drives. I told him, impossible since I was testing it on three different machines.

    So, it is not confined to any particular version of Rollback Rx, or the matter resolves itself after two or three shutdowns. The matter happens on every shutdown and/or restart, and when the chkdsk is run it gives massive of errors.

    I have identified the culprit, only your development has to do is to test it with O&O DiskImage.

    Kind regards,

    KOR!
