The free version is really great option for x64 OS owners (just keep UAC on for rootkit protection), but this is amazing offer.

Grab it while you can :thumb:

    Thanks

OT: What makes you think that the UAC is relevant to rootkit protection on x64?

UAC warns you if a program wants to have admin rights. Indirectly, you are right because without admin rights no program can intrude into ring 0.
But independent of the UAC there is also driver signing enforcement and on x64 also patchguard. Driver signing enforcement + patchguard will prevent any malware to intrude into ring 0, UAC is not needed for this :)

Does the 1 Year License start from the time that you use the license key or does it start from the day of Registration for the license key?

    Thanks in Advance.

I thought that x64 was immune to rootkits.

All people should be getting the same key, so it will expire on the same day.

Once the year is up does the program expire? Or just no more updates?

    Thanks.

Am I missing something? What would be the bad thing about using a product like this? Who needs firewalls or anti virus software if you can install something like this, get hit with viruses, malware of all sorts, whatever and then simply reboot and be right back where you were?

Is it simply this easy to just use something like Returnil and forget about security?

There has to be some other issue or something that causes this not to be the easiest solution to all security needs right? :doubt:

    .
Although rebooting will eliminate the malware (if all goes well) it won't help if you've lost sensitive information during the attack. I think you still want protection against keyloggers and other kinds of malware that steal data. It seems to me like Returnil is Plan B for dealing with malware, not Plan A, but perhaps other users can speak to this.

Edit: I see now that Returnil LUX offers real-time AV, so perhaps it can be a complete solution?

Yup,you need to protect yourself from keyloggers by using keyscrambler or a HIPS like Defensewall.

Learn how to use Returnil, you'll be golden. :thumb:
