Hi all, great forum..........loads of information.
    My problems is:
I am using True Image 2009 with Windows Vista Ultimate and I have tried in vain to restore an image to a larger hard drive (300G to a 500G) which incorporated my system files from an external hard drive.
When I tried to boot after the restore took place I had the message "BOOTMGR missing".
I am now trying to use Windows Vista Complete PCRestore to get my computer up and running again. I will see how this goes but I don't have much confidence in any Microsoft Program running smoothly.
I have tired certain fixes that are posted on this website by nothing seems to work............I am at a loss. I have tried a restore with and without incorporating the MBR with the same results.

Boot with your Vista install dvd and use the Repair feature.

When you did the restore, did you select MBR as part of the restore?

    Update:
All fixed, the computer was booting to the wrong hard drive, one without Windows on it............it usually helps.
    Thanks for the responses............
