We are looking into VMWare which will allow us to run multiple virtual servers on a single piece of hardware. We currently have a bunch of traditional server systems which each run on their own individual hardware, thus we want to migrate these system to our VM machine.

My knowledge of using Acronis to create an image and restore the image to new hardware is limited (but the software is extremely impressive). Can I use the Acronis True Image and Universal Restore to copy an image from my traditional server to the VM Server?

Thanks for any and all help.

    Hello ralltuck,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis Corporate Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for the delayed response.

Yes, Acronis True Image with Acronis Universal restore add-on is able to restore in a virtual environment the same way it does on a physical machine. You can learn how to use Acronis True Image from the respective User's Guide (particularly, chapter "Using Acronis Universal Restore in virtual environment").

    Thank you.
