    Hi,

have a drive with alternate Windows XP on it ( say Partition D)

Primary partition on first drive ( C: drive) smaller than that of alternate OS : would I be able to restore image of partition D to the C drive although C is smaller than D ?

I am trying to gently reinstall fully Win XP on D partition while continuing to do daily work on C partition system.

But forget partition sizes before doing so !

TIA for infos before I go further

    Hello Pivert,

Thank you for choosing Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

Yes, you will be able to restore the image of a big partition to the smaller partition in case it has enough space for all the data contained on the big partition. In other words, if the space used on your D partition (in your example) is smaller than the size of your C partition you will be able to restore the image.

    Thank you.

    Thanks you !

Yes I have enough space on the C partition for the occupied space on D partition

    Thanks!
