    Hey all!

I have been having problems restoring an image taken on a HD and restored on an SSD. I have a Dell laptop with a spindle HD that I took an image off offline. Dell sent me a new laptop (replacement) that has an SSD. Same make and model of laptop. So when I restore the image to the new SSD laptop, it doesn't boot. I have tried using:

    IFL
    AOEMI Backupper Professional
    Paragon Hard Drive Manager 15

I assumed this wouldn't work but I assume also there is a way to do this (options I am not seeing?). The offline image is stored on a USB hard drive.

A few of the apps have a OS migration tool for this reason but they require both hard drives available at once to clone to an SSD. Since these laptops are separate, there is no way to do this.

I have access to just about any imaging tool so if anyone knows a way to do this on another app let me know.

    Thanks!

When you imaged the HDD, did you image the entire disk, all partitions?
Are both laptops set up for the same BOOTing environment, and if so, is it UEFI or MBR?
Is the SSD the same size as the HDD?

...and what's the BOOTing error you see?

@TheRollbackFrog You were right...the old laptop was in UEFI mode...new one was set to Legacy Boot. Once I changed the new one to UEFI, it booted just fine. Thanks!

In my experience, it's always something simple like that :)

    Good luck!
