I have created an image of my new Dell Latitude D830 laptop. When I tried to test it, the bootable restore hangs my system. I can get to different points of the restore but unforunately it always hangs before completion. I have tried multiple suggestions but none have work so far. I am need to get my laptop restore for work. Any help would be great. I believe the problem is related to linux drivers for my laptop. Attached is a system report of my system.

    Thanks Chris

Where did you store the image?

What operating system is on your D830?

    What have you tried?

What version of TI was the bootable Recovery CD created with?

    Hello cperren,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Workstation Disk Backup Software.

Could you please clarify if the computer hangs when tries to boot the standalone version of Acronis True Image or after a certain point of the restore process itself (after you press "Proceed" button)?

Step-by-step descriptions of actions taken before the problem appears would also be useful.

In addition, please answer jmk94903's question.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Thank you.

I am using Windows XP and the image is stored on a USB WD Passport 160 G Drive. I am using the latest build of True Image Workstation 9.1 (Acronis True Image Workstation® version 9.1 (build 3,887)) for which the boot cd was created.

During restore, the true image software typically hangs while restoring within the firt few minutes. Also the true image will hang upon start up after 10 minutes. Basically the software wast locks up preventing any keyboard access. I listed below the dell configuration of my laptop.

    Thanks

I am able to alt-ctl-f2 into linux but I hae not had any success mounting a usb drive. I have tried the following with no sucess - It appears to mount but when I perform a ls no files appears on my usb.

    cat /proc/partitions

    8 0 117220824 scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/disc
    8 16 156290904 scsi/host2/bus0/target0/lun0/disc
    8 17 156288321 scsi/host2/bus0/target0/lun0/part1

    mount -t auto /devfs/scsi/host2/bus0/target0/lun0/disc /mnt/tmp
    mount -t auto /dev/scsi/host2/bus0/target0/lun0/disc /mnt/tmp
    mount -t auto /scsi/host2/bus0/target0/lun0/disc /mnt/tmp

    Hello cperren,

Thank you for the collected information.
Could you please try booting with "acpi=off noapic" parameter as it is described in Acronis Help Post and see if that solves the problem?

If that doesn't solve the problem, please submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with a solution.

    Thank you.
