    Hello

I wasted a lot of time d/l Mcafee 8.0 but i never liked its stupid interface at all so i uninstalled it at once

May i see screenshots of v7.0 if anybody don't mind?

And i'm curious 2 know also how v9.0 looks like as well + what's new in it

    THANKS

The UI for McAfee 9.0 looks the same as 8.0, just some different colors. 9.0 supposed to have better spyware detection.

    Hi magoood,

I had McAfee VirusScan 7.x on my pc, the user interface is better then the lamer one in 8.0 with advertisement for other McAfee Products and so on..

but I have no screenshots, sorry.

You can use the newest scan engine with VirusScan 7.x without any problems and you can detect all that 9.x can detect..

    best regards,

    iNsuRRecTiON

In my opinion the gui on 7.03 is a lot better than 8.0 or 9.0 and there are more user settings on 7.0. and as stated in the previous post the latest scan engine 4400 and the latest defs 4407 work just great.

Does this mean that McAfee continues to support 7.03? How long do they continue to support older versions before they say that's it. Just wondering because Norton, for example, stops support for older versions after a while.

7.03.6000 is still supported in as far as being able to update the latest versions of the scan engine and the latest defs. You can still get e-mail or online chat support for it it is not an abandoned version. you can get it here real cheaply

Thanks bigc and ronjor. $5.00 is a very good price for an AV. The prices for McAfee 8 and 9 aren't bad either. :) I've gone from NAV to Panda and now to giving Trend Micro 2005 a try. It's nice but not crazy about it. I've never tried any McAfee version. At those prices, I might just give it a try. :)

i Have been using the 7.03 for a long time..
i tried the new 8 release and then quickly removed it.
7.03 has many advanced features that release 8.0 and 9.0 lacks..
i think the new releases are made for noobs who just dont want many advanced features in antivirus software..

i wish the new version,, maybe 10.0 would have the advanced features that 7.03 have now
