I just downloaded ReDefend and would like suggestions on setting up the protection in PG. Thank you.

    Hi WilliamP,

Based on my experience, it is possible to run RD with none of the optional permissions enabled (Install Global Hooks, Install Drivers/Services...) and have no problems. If you export rule groups frequently, you will probably get annoyed by PG's "global hook" alerts and you can then safely give gss.exe permission to install global hooks. If you want to be cautious, you should also give gss.exe permission install drivers and services. Again, in my experience, it does not appear necessary.

You should protect gss.exe from Termination and Modification and you should authorize it to Modify and Read from other protected applications. These will be enabled by default if you add gss.exe to the Protection list via the Security list.
