    Hello-Newbie here-
I just downloaded SpywareBlaster and have a question as to why some items in the database are highlighted in red?? Is it OK to select these items for protection?
Sorry if this is a stupid question!

    Hi Roxanne,

Not a stupid question at all! (The only dumb questions are the ones that I ask. :D )

The items bold and red are those that SpywareBlaster can protect you against, but are not currently selected. This let's you quickly see the new or unprotected items when opening SpywareBlaster.

So just hit the "Select All" button then the "Protect Against Checked Items!" button, and that'll add those protections on to your system. The next time you start SpywareBlaster all the items should then be unbolded and in black text.

Remember to run SpywareBlaster once a week or so and use the button to "Check for Updates" to see if Javacool has added new protections. Other than that, SpywareBlaster does not need to be running, but its protections will still be in place.

    Best Wishes,
