Hi, I'm experience problems with the recovery CD on HP XW4600 with a C2Q processor. I'm running XP 2 and everything works great with ATIH 10 in XP, but when I try to run the recovery CD, it fails before the first window is displayed (with the selection message safe, full, window).

I get the same fault with ATIH 11.

    Any help appreciated

    Hello frol38,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please make sure you use the latest build of Acronis True Image Home. To get access to updates you should first register your software. Don't forget to recreate Acronis Bootable Rescue Media after updating.

If updating doesn't solve the problem, please collect some information to let us investigate it thoroughly:

Please create Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

Then submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with a solution.

    Thank you.

    Hello frol38,

    Same problem,
Proves that a backup is useless until a restore is checked!!!!

Could it be related to the cardreader? See another post on this forum.

In linux, the SCSI disk order is somewhat strange:
    /dev/sda: Flash memory -- cardreader
    /dev/sdb: First SATA disk
    /dev/sdc: SATA DVD recorder
    /dev/sdd: Second SATA disk

Could be that the (empty) card slot freezes True Imageo_O

    Kind Regards,

    Hello all,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup software

hmmsjan, you're right. Probably this issue can be caused by cardreader (even if there is no card inserted). Could you please try to unplug the cardreader and check if the issue is fixed.

    Thank you.

I am not able to check the cardreader, but I was attended by a colleague to the fact that on a HP XW4600 without cardreader , it was necessary to go into the BIOS and to change the storage options/SATA emulation from AHCI into IDE in order to boot Acronis.

    Kind Regards,
