    Hello,

I ran a virus scan today with ESET Smart Security 4.2.40.0. It found a virus in a file on one of my secondary drives. It didn't put in quarantine, it deleted, along with everything else in the folder. I was wondering if there is any way to recover it? I've been trying file recovery programs all afternoon, and nothing is working.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

As far as I know, deleted files are securely overwritten, so there is no chance of recovery.

A copy of files that are cleaned or deleted is created in quarantine under any circumstances. I wonder what the threat log says, it should say something to the effect "file cleaned by deleting - quarantined".
