can anybody recommended audio ripping software and converting to mp3 or flac
Exact Audio Copy (EAC) is my choice, as it ensures the audio is read correctly. It can even be used with scratched CDs and will read the data multiple times to try and avoid any errors.
EAC dont contain LAME mp3 converter, but audiograbber can do with additional setup
lame + lame_enc can also extend EAC, just change the target directory for the plugin to eac.
I've used Foobar2000 for CD ripping in past and it did well.

Poikosoft EZ CD Audio Converter.
They've been around quite a while:
"Poikosoft is the creator of the world's first CD to MP3 ripper in 1997"
This reminds me, I've got around a thousand CDs to rip when I get round to it.
I use Windows Media Player. It's buit in and does the job. Nothing fancy.
There is an option to switch from the default .wma to .mp3 format permanently. It's also a place to redirect the .mp3 files to go to any place other than the default.
Internet is needed so they can look up titles - that part worked for me on XP, but returns Unknown album, Unknown artist, so I had to name things myself. Consequently I continue to block WMP trips to M$ in the firewall since it's useless for me.
Are you asking about CD's or some other Audio ?
Ez Cd I have used. And have found it worked as should.
You can get the older free version from here.
