I am using Windows 98, and I had a problem with the lucky search/globe-finder hijacking my system. Now, my system keeps freezing up, when I manually force the shutdown by holding the start button, it starts right up without the blue screen warning for improper shut down and freezes after/ or sometimes after. I can't even get Dr. Watson to work. Is there a way to get the system to load the blue error screen or restore my default start up. I was sure where this question belonged?

Hm I'm not sure if it will help, but F8 can get you into safe mode. Booting into safe mode should allow you to checkdisk, etc, anyway.

Surely one of the others will be along with a better idea as to what you should do, so hang in there ;-)
