RP seems to work just fine without any global hooks (just watched/listened to Shania singing "She's not just a pretty face" <g>). Pete
Re:Real Player Shania!? Hook type 5 is WH_CBT, which Microsoft defines as "a hook procedure that receives notifications useful to a computer-based training (CBT) application." ... "The system calls this function before activating, creating, destroying, minimizing, maximizing, moving, or sizing a window; before completing a system command; before removing a mouse or keyboard event from the system message queue; before setting the keyboard focus; or before synchronizing with the system message queue."
Re:Real Player Okay, that sounds harmless enough - and since RP still works fine, I guess I fall back on the "Golden Rule of ProcessGuard": If something still works while ProcessGuard is running wide-open (all protections in place) - don't change any settings in PG for the app - right? Pete
Re:Real Player I agree with this thinking. If you see any issues with having protection on with an application, report them in this forum so people can decide if they want to live with what happens when protection is enabled, or if they should allow that application to have privileges. -Jason-
