    I need to reinstall Windows 8. What is the best first thing to do? -- Download and install all Important Windows Updates (Last month there were 95.) Or should I install my anti-malware program first??

    Windows updates first.
    always.

    actually, i would take a disk image before doing the updates.
    and one after.

    For me personally anti-virus software is the last thing that I install after Windows re-install.
    I go like this in this order:
    1. First install all Windows updates
    2. Install all necessary drivers
    3. Install all programs that I use and need
    4. ---> Image with Macrium
    --> After making image of my C: drive with macrium reflect I install anti-virus software and if I want to try another anti-virus software later time then I just run that image and.. U know.. :shifty:

    1. Antimalware software may interfere with WU operations.
    2. Antimalware software may screw up your system so badly.

    Therefore, it's better to install your antimalware software of choice in the last order.
