Got a letter in snail mail today that Raxco had filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. Upon going to their website discovered that it was indeed true. Enjoyed PerfectDisk years ago, and more recently InstantRecovery. RIP Acadia
Unless I'm wrong. LOL. Years ago they traded their CD/DVD software business for PerfectDisk. At the time I thought that was very unwise.
The late Peter2150 and I swore by their FirstDefense-ISR for years, until we both discovered Macrium Reflect. I was puzzled why I received a notice in the mail that they were in Bankruptcy Court. Then I remembered, I have an extended support contract with them ... they owe me about $7-$8 Their tech support, headed by Greg Hayes, was always exemplary. Acadia
I had a lot of fun with FD-ISR over the years when I used it. It saved my neck a few times. Things change.
Well thats a bummer. I'll continue to use Instant Recovery for now as it has always worked flawlessly.
When I had my Custom Desktop setup [back in day] with Windows XP installed in 2007, it was brilliant to use, and saved my bacon many times. Another one bites the dust....
Ohhh.. "I had a lot of fun with FD-ISR over the years when I used it. It saved my neck a few times. Things change." Yis: ISR was such a good tool. heh: remember the little "frog croak" in the Leapfrog days. Was a really useful "overlap layer" while Macrium developed. I wonder where Todd ended up ??
Same here. FD-ISR revolutionized a failsafe personalized Windows System depending on how much storage area a user had to keep images stored. And was equally reliable restoring snapshots in Unlimited number
I was another longtime PerfectDisk user until I switched to SSDs a few years ago. It was a great program. Raxco: RIP. Have a great day. Regards, Phil
Yes! There is only one product called O&O Defrag that makes the case for a modified defrag for SSDs, but I don't know that it makes a difference in performance. Windows just runs the Trim command.
MS obviously dictates who stays and who goes in the software world. This was inevitable like Shadow Defender being summarily knocked out of contention. Many others will follow. MS won't waste time answering questions. They simply will slip in an Update to break as they will who they will. They can't fight back and will only end up on the heap of what use to be.
