I have a single drive with 2 partitions. Running XP; everything runs just like you would expect. When running CHKDSK or DEFRAG (Diskeeper), I get an error message which effectively says: my hard drive is a RAW type and, therefore, the applications will not run.

The applications use to run; they don't now. Not sure what happened but I would be very interested in restoring the drive to a non-RAW type - currently NTFS file structure.

Any hints would be appreciated. Downloaded the Disk Director but whatever the solution was there, it wasn't obvious.

    Any help available?

    Welcome to the forum.

Can you post a screenshot of what DD shows (in Manual Mode) for the drive? Can you also post a screenshot of what Disk Management shows for the drive? It may help to see them.

Do you have a current image backup of the drive? If so, does the imaging software report the correct format for the partitions?

    Hello dough_boy and MudCrab,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

This issue can be caused by hard drive corruption. dough_boy, could you please create Acronis Report as it is described in Acronis Help Post and attach it to this thread?

    Thank you.
