questions about XB machine that i hope some expert can answer:

-Can i just boot it from a CD?
    -Is it free?
    -Do i need an account?
-What will my computer name be?
-Does it require an operating system? i have windows xp
-Does it require virtualization software because my computer has none? if it does, any free one?
-Can i change my wifi network card's MAC address and how do i view what the current MAC is?
-Does it work with all wifi network cards and WPA access points?
-Is there any online anonymity test i could do to test it?
-Does it have the latest version of xb browser and tor?
    -Does it have a firewall?

    Yes

    Yes

    No

    Dunno. Think it depends.

    No

    No. Qemu

    Already done. 00 00 00 00 00 00

    No. Nearly all.

It doesn't rely on them. And we told tor to put our an auto-update url but they did not listen at the time we were writing xB Machine. "Latest" isn't going to matter much though, the security is much stronger than the software. Even if the software was malware it would be strong enough to prevent issues. :)

Two of them. The software can't even communicate to the outside world without asking you for permission first.

Eh? You know what you see is different than what others see? What seems to be the problem, exactly?

Only the old version exists. It isn't being upkept as we are about to release a new replacement for it.

I have to translate it into English.

I use IE 7, higher security settings.

What I saw when I clicked on that link was a message that there were secure and insecure (unsecured?) items (?), and was asked if I wanted to proceed (or something like that). For as far as I know, that often has something to do with certificates, or https and http on the same webpage, or something like that.

ooooh. You must be viewing it in https. It has an iframe to ip.xerobank.com which performs the test and lookups. Use simple http. I'll ask what we can do about that.

Well, I just clicked on the link. I didn't type https:// myself.

I THINK (not sure) that I have clicked on the link in the past without seeing this issue.

Maybe it has something to do with Eset Smart Security which I am trialling.

So how does xb machine hide an ip address if it doesn't use tor or xb browser? what does it use instead?

Ok i downloaded it from here:
    http://update.xerobank.com/beta/xB_Machine_0.9.1.5.exe

and i burned it onto a CD and it runs but there is a MAJor problem. When i click on XB Profile it says something like this:

please enter your transaction ID so we can download your account data

I thought xb machine is FREE?

I check the settings and it shows that TOR is running, but when i open xb browser it says to enter my transaction ID and i have clicked OK when i entered nothing and clicked Cancel and closed the box but it still keeps on popping up.

Why can't Xerobank setup a FREE transaction ID number account for ALL users to use with the xb browser and TOR?

xB Machine can use Tor, SSH, or OpenVPN to the XeroBank network. The next version will be able to do the same, except it will look exactly like mozilla firefox but be in a completely virtualized environment. not a sandbox, a true virtualized application, which has never been done before. It is not like anything you've ever seen! We showed a demo to the JonDoNym guys, and they flipped. :)

Will there be a base OS behind the new release, or is this going to be a visualized application itself with a single executable?

If there is a base OS, what will it be, and what will the Virt environment be?

If its a single virt app, what are you using to build that environment?

    Will it be opensource?

It is tiny! It is built using OpenWRT for the OS, and can run Firefox, Thunderbird and more from a self-contained virtualized environment. It appears to run just like the normal browser/mail client, but in a super strong, encrypted, virtualize OS that seamlessly runs on your existing system.
