question on AppGuard

I am thinking of purchasing AppGuard as it not that expensive
1 - Do i need anything else like Antivirus or firewall?
2- is this a one time buy or i need to annually pay for it ?

1. You don't need an antivirus if you use an on-demand scanner to check downloads, but it wouldn't hurt to use an AV.

2. It is one-time, but you would have to pay again if there is a major version change, such as from 3.x to 4.x.

 

I am quite surprised by your question. Do you fully understand Appguard ? I fully understand Sandboxie,and trust it 99.9%,it has been tested to the limit, but i still think, having an extra layer cannot do any harm.While I hope Appguard is as good as it looks, I feel it's unproven. As far as I know, the only discussion/feedback is on this forum.
To put all your trust in one program, you have to be very sure of it, and understand it fully.
As for the firewall, I think this is an absolute necessity, either software or/and hardware

 

yes you should still use a firewall,at least windows firewall.Appguard does not replace windows firewall or any other third party firewall.

Combine it with UAC and Wokhan's Firewall Notifier (make it a power app in AppGuard) and you have a wfw 2-way WITH notification for outbound.

Lighter setup with equivalent protection is hard to find.
