Can you guys perhaps check if you can download these files from Youtube? The first one I can download, but not the second. What could be the problem? And yes, I've been a hip hop fan all my life. :D

BTW, a heads up, I don't know what happened but if you try to download this tool, you get a 99kb .exe file, this is weird. There is also no signature found on VirusTotal. So I think there might be something fishy going on, I would advice not to install. Old versions work fine.

OK so it was a false alarm, it's a so called "online installer", I just checked it out with SBIE. But anyway, the newest version seems to have fixed the problem. So it didn't have anything to do with country restrictions.

It's so small because it's a downloader. When you run it, it downloads and launches the full installer. It is using OpenCandy, so you need to be careful to uncheck and decline and 3rd party offers.

I installed it, and it was able to download the second YouTube video you provided the link to.

Yes my bad, they changed it, I really hate these "downloaders". But anway, for some reason YTD will all of a sudden start to malfunction, it will refuse to download certain files. I fixed it by downloading the latest version, but after that they released a newer version, and it broke again. Cleaning the system/sandbox with CCleaner also didn't help. I will try to install it outside the sandbox, but this is getting on my nerves, why can't stuff just work?

Maybe there have been changes made to YouTube which prevent the old version from working?
There is no reason for doing a cleanup to fix your YTD issues.

Yes it might be YouTube that's causing the problems. And sometimes cleaning TEMP files can fix problems, especially after reinstalling YTD. But anyway, I have installed YTD outside the sandbox and now all is fine again.

Youtube changes the game all the time to combat this practice. I used ytd for a while but got fed up. I use freerapid. Yes i'm aware of what that might bring to mind, but that doesn't have anything to do with the matter at hand. It covers a massive base, and you would be wise to take a look at what it offers.

It uses Java. , Yes, got the link np.

Does it work with FreeRapid? And yes, I think it's because of YouTube that sometimes YTD doesn't work correctly anymore. I get a "Failed 2" error. But it doesn't happen with all videos, I can still download most stuff, so it doesn't make any sense.

Some videos just seem to be not attainable, but I use freerapid for any video download. It supports them all I think.

Yes, but did you try the 2 links?

Downloaded both with Complete YouTube Saver Firefox add-on. Without Firefox/Firefox fork I guess an external Video downloader such as ClipConverter should make it.

Good thinking, I forgot I could also use an extension. But I still prefer YTD, because Firefox is not my main browser.

Downloaded both above mentioned with another YouTube downloader application : YouTube Downloader HD
HD videos on YouTube (over 720p) require download of video, then audio, then mix (by the downloader application) : some apps just won't do it, work with 720p and not with 1080 and above. YouTube Downloader HD won't download above 1080 nevertheless, which is acceptable, even if a 4096 may be a thrill when available for intellectual reasons most of the time (we all differentiate a good wine (1080p) from a common one (720p) but we are very few to make the difference between a good one (1080p) and a grand cru (4096p) :D

Yes, I know about that one, but it's less handy and sometimes also doesn't work.

    Earth .... occasionally
It appears to be a "cat and mouse" game ..... Youtube vs. Downloaders

Wise Video Downloader works well .... but for how long ?

A simpler and more reliable option is a screen recorder ... it bypasses the problem entirely.
IceCream is free , and Apowersoft is a good paid one.

Correct, it's annoying as hell. I did notice that it's often music videos that won't be download-able anymore, all of a sudden.

I've tried that one a while back, I didn't like it.

What the hell, I thought I was already running the latest version. But thanks, I will check again.
