My windows built-in firewall was turned off (as reported by Action Center) after the installation of Eset smart security v6. so everything is working just like it was with version 5.

However, when I went to the Windows Firewall with Advanced Setting MMC snap-in, I noticed the firewall for the three profiles (domain private and public) remain "on". So is the Windows firewall on or off?

Do I need to manually switch them off? I do not want to have two firewall running concurrently and would like to use Eset SS firewall only.

    Hello,

The Windows Firewall does not conflict with the ESET Personal Firewall module, so it can be left enabled. Basically, it's enabled because it provides some security functiinlaity early in the boot process, but otherwise remains inactive when ESET's firewall initializes and takes over protection of the network interfaces.

    Regards,
