Qubes 1.0 Released

    Introducing Qubes 1.0.

    Note: Qubes is more suited for experienced users than newbies.

    Looks good. But couldn't you just use GRSecurity patches and be more secure than that already? Or did they incorporate GRSecurity? Seems to me like isolation is only one layer and kernel patching (such as PaX and StackProtector) are a great addition that would make this more secure.

    I doubt that's possible. VM hosts generally won't run as VMs.
     
  6. Yeah they don't, I still think it's possible to run it in a VM but so far I haven't found out how.

    I gather that it uses Xen, and I recall reading that Xen won't run in VMs. But there are some ambiguous comments about running Qubes in VMs on the Qubes website, so maybe it's possible.

    In addition to using Xen, Qubes takes advantage of Vt-x and Vt-d freatures of Intel MBs as I understand it.
