I'm very well aware that the Wilders board is not a financial board nor a political board (and I do not want start discussions about those topics!), but from a hardware point of view this "failed" bid of $ 44 billion is interesting. For those interested (and who are able to read it) Dutch newspaper NRC has several articles, the latest one: https://www.nrc.nl/nieuws/2018/07/26/stiekem-is-nxp-behoorlijk-opgelucht-a1611339 Anyway, I think I will leave it to that.
Yes, it was a retaliation from China, now Qualcomm has to pay 2 billion to NXP. And I thought I had never heard of NXP before, but it's the former Philips Semiconductors which was a well known company.
Hey Rasheed, I thought you knew that. Just like ASML (see post by Ron here) was also a "daughter" of Philips. That old famous NatLab of Philips, for those who remember it ...
Yes I knew about ASML, but it's a shame what happened to Philips they have basically sold all of their audio/video tech to other companies that's why I'm not buying their stuff anymore. But Holland should be proud of companies like Philips and ASML, no doubt.
