Hi All, Since upgrading our site to ESET Smart Security 5.0, we now have to disable the new Web Access Protection otherwise accessing our QNAP NVR camera surveillance system does not work. The surveillance system runs a web server on the NVR and displays the cameras through an ActiveX control through Internet Explorer on the client PC(s). Does anyone have any solutions that may involve NOT removing protection from Smart Security? The QNAP NVR has the latest firmware (3.5.0, model VS200 Thanks, Kris.
There are a variety of solutions to this. The most efficient, may be placing the firewall into interactive mode and creating rules to allow access to the NVR. http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2843&ref=wsf You can also create a log of blocked connections, find the blocks connected to the NVR and create rules to allow those blocked connections to go through. http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2841&ref=wsf
