Rollercoaster ... of Linux. So, this is a short, initial review of Q4OS 1.8.3 Orion, a lightweight Debian-based distro with the Trinity desktop environment, with live session testing in a virtual machine, including look & feel, ease of use, drivers and codecs setup, desktop configuration, software install, basic usage and interaction, performance, some rather interesting surprises, and more. Indeed, more to come.

Its like running Windows XP. Antique and familiar. TDE was retained because at the time, Plasma was half-baked and full of bugs and for the main reason - people just hate change for the sake of change. And if it still works, why change?

Q40S hearkens back to a time when people ran a classical and clean desktop. Modern OSes overlook human nature. For a lot of people, being on the cutting edge of software development is overkill.
