    Hi,

as far as I understood the licensing system you need 19 (for 18 agents and your machine) licenses...

I think the workstation version would be your choise. It is much cheaper than the server version and has the same "remote features".

    Hi,

sorry...you are right, the agent is only for the Enterprise Server, but you can boot up the system with the agent disc and remotely backup the linux machine then. TI Workstation supports the following file systems: FAT16/32, NTFS, Linux Ext2, Ext3, ReiserFS, and Linux SWAP.

Due to the price-difference...this should be worth thinking about.

after thinking about it (3sec) :) no its not good.
becouse of automatisation reasons its not good and downtime.

there has to be a solution for licensing linux agents without to pay $900

its too much just for the agent

    Very simple

When you buy the enterprise version 1x
And want to deploy lets say 10 agents (you can do so without any serials)

BUT you do need to have 10x TrueImage Workstation to get the license to deploy the agents!

OK linux agents can be a different story. But they told me that for the windows agents I need to buy Coporate workstation for every workstation i deploy an agent to.

Acronis is this true? And if yes is it fair?

    to jeremy:

Yes it´s true and unfair. Today I realized that for the 1st time, true!

One full license per Windows Agent! To me, this is not in the sense of an Enterprise product!

If I would have known this I would´nt have purchased this product.

It is 999 € per Agent!!!

i dont think you need for every agent the enterprise version 990 euro.

you buy 1 enterprise license and for every windows agent 1 workstation license.

    so it is
990 euro for the windows enterprise version
xx euro for the windows agent
    and
linux agent is free. (included in the enterprise version)

can some one from the Acronis team help us if this is correct?

    Hello yaniv.fer and everyone interested,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis Remote Disk Backup Software.

We are very sorry for the delay with the response.

Please be aware that according to Acronis software licensing policy, you should purchase one copy of Acronis program per every computer where it will be used. This rule applies to Acronis True Image 9.1 Workstation and Acronis True Image 9.1 Enterprise Server local versions and both Acronis Windows and Linux Agents.

Could you please let us know who told you that the amount of Acronis Linux Agents is not counted?

If you received this information via e-mail from one of our support engineers then please send us a Private Message containing your Acronis request # (e.g. [Acronis #123456]) which can be found in the subjects of the letters that you received from Acronis Support Team along with the link to this thread.

In case you received this information via any other channels, please send us a Private Message containing the name of the person who provided you with the incorrect information along with the link to this thread.

We'll certainly do our best in order to not allow such mistakes in the future.

Reverting to your initial question, we recommend that you purchase 9 Acronis True Image 9.1 Workstation and 10 Acronis True Image 9.1 Enterprise Server licenses. In this case you will be able to set up your back up environment so that you can back up any of your computers including your main machine:

    - Install Acronis Linux Agents on all your Linux based desktops.

    - Install Acronis (Windows) Agents on all your Windows XP based laptops.

    - Install Acronis (Windows) Agent or local version of Acronis True Image 9.1 Workstation along with the Acronis True Image 9.1 Enterprise Server Management Console on your main Windows XP based desktop (the amount of Acronis Management Consoles installed is not counted for obvious reasons).

You can find the detailed instructions on how to use the above mentioned products in their respective User's Guides.

We also recommend that you take a look at Acronis Public Knowledge Base.

Please also note that we have a flexible system of discounts and the amount of the discount varies depending on the number of copies you want to purchase. If you are planning to purchase more than 10 copies, please contact our Sales Team by filling up the Volume Licence Request form available at the Purchase Acronis Corporate Solutions page of Acronis web site.

If you have any further questions concerning Acronis software, please feel free to submit a request for technical support or post any of them on this forum. We will certainly try to help you in resolving any issues.

    Thank you.
