Has anyone here purchased a Dell through Costco? Experiences positive or negative? I know that Costco offers a much longer return policy (30 days vs. 6 months) and Costco consistently has lower prices than Dell for the EXACT same systems, you just can't configure them like you can at the Dell website: what you see is what you get.

    Thanks, Acadia.

Acadia IMHO you would come out better having a Computer built by some one local.

Hi Acadia. Goonman has a great suggestion - talk to your local private shops. I had my computer custom built and it really doesn't cost more unless you want all the hefty bells & whistles. When I had mine built it came with a 3 yr. full warranty whereas pre-built ones were only giving a 1 yr. and then you have to purchase an extended warranty. My 3 yrs. are up and all I had to do to my puter is instal a new, larger fan. Also, you will not have to deal with pre-installed malware which seemingly becomes more and more prevelant in pre-built computers. A mouse, keyboard, computer camera will also come with pre-installed malware depending on the manufacturer - this I sadly discovered. Cheers.

    Hi Acadia.

I agree with Goonman and Peaches.
I had a tower custom built by a local shop.
No pre-installed av trialware,no spyware to remove.
I did remove some of the excess baggage of XP Home and that's it. ;)
